A Life Built on Service

I’m Bill McNeese. I’m a husband, a father to three, a Navy veteran, and a neighbor here in McHenry County. My life has always been about service: to my family, my country, and my community.

I’m running for McHenry County Clerk because I believe government should work the way good people already do: with integrity, respect, and follow-through. My goal is simple. Keep what works, improve what doesn’t, and make every interaction with the Clerk’s Office easy, honest, and dependable.

A dirt farm road runs between two fields, one filled with wheat on the left and another with green crops on the right, under a bright blue sky with a few small clouds.

The Path That Shaped Me

Putting People First

A Record of Service

Life has always revolved around service; first in uniform as a Navy veteran, then in the private sector running a wellness center that helps families find balance, and now through nonprofits that make mental health care accessible for veterans and cancer survivors.

Every chapter has taught me that leadership means listening, taking responsibility, and following through.

Rooted in Community

I’m raising my family right here in McHenry County. My wife Elizabeth and I are teaching our children what my parents taught me: work hard, tell the truth, and treat every person with respect. This is our home, and I want it run with the care and efficiency it deserves.

I’m not running to make noise. I’m running to make a difference for the people who make this community what it is.

A Better Way Forward

I believe government works best when it’s honest, efficient, and human. The Clerk’s Office should be a place that reflects those values: clear answers, quick service, and people who genuinely care.

I respect the honest leadership that’s guided this office, and I’m ready to continue that work while pushing it forward and building a system that earns trust through transparency and delivers service with heart.

Why I’m Running

I’m not running against someone. I’m running for something.

I believe the Clerk’s Office should reflect the best of McHenry County: honesty, clarity, and community spirit. My priorities are to simplify services, strengthen public trust, and protect the integrity of every vote.

Foundations of Leadership

ESWS is a Navy warfare qualification that reflects broad shipboard knowledge, readiness, and accountability in a high responsibility environment.

It reinforced the values I bring to public service: preparation, discipline, attention to detail, and respect for the systems people rely on.

Boy Scouts of America
Eagle Scout Award

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Scouting and reflects leadership, service, initiative, and follow through. It helped shape my character during a formidable stage of life, reinforcing values that have stayed with me ever since.

It helped shape my belief that leadership means responsibility, service, and setting the right example.
